Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz). It is a popular treatment for all skin types and has no downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions
Patients will immediately notice smoother skin and the removal of some of the fine hairs on the skin. Patients can continue to benefit from the smoothing of the skin through multiple sessions of this technique.
Dermaplaning is simply the removal of superficial skin cells and hair on the surface of the skin. This does not cause any excess hair growth as you are not affecting the actual hair follicle. It leaves your face smooth, supile, and rejuvenated.
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation of the skin by using a blade to lightly scrape the outer layer of facial skin. This technique does not involve use of any chemicals that may effect skin color.
We would recommend to do a light peel first, let the skin dry thoroughly and then do the dermaplaning. If you do it the other way around it becomes more aggressive and can cause burning sensations to the skin.
If you had a deep dermaplaning then sun has to be avoided for a minimum period if 7-10 days and sunscreen has to be continued lifelong. You will need to avoid putting anything on the treated area for at least a week, but you should always apply sunscreen on your face for the rest of your life.
